two-piece, portland stone sculpture

ALAN BRAZIER

Sculptor

Using the imagination to translate aspects of the environment into a more personal expression has its beginning in my childhood when I used to look for faces in the clouds or reclining figures buried deep in the contours of the landscape. As an artist it is my privilege as well as duty to interpret what I see in a sculptural form. So for me the challenge is to capture the inner expressions of the human form and find the sculptural vocabulary that can reveal and render those inner qualities, while at the same time remaining true to the external forms.
